This week on the blog, we are revisiting the Aspen Ridge Townhome project and revealing one of our favourite rooms!

Our clients requested a space to practice Yoga but also required a guest bedroom.  As square footage in the townhouse is somewhat limited we had to be EXTREMELY mindful of how space was used.  We knew the area needed to be tranquil, roomy, and uncluttered; yet have the necessary furniture (bed, side tables)  available for the occasional guest.

As seen in the October issue of Western Living and the Fall/Winter issue of Dote Magazine, take a peek at our Aspen Loft Yoga Room:

Corea-Sotropa-Interior-Design-Yoga-Room-Image-1We took our cue from all of the beautiful natural light pouring in, and decided to use white painted walls and cabinetry to create a calm, light, and airy space.  We knew our client would be spending a lot of time looking up while practising yoga so we chose to cover the ceiling with a dreamy wallpaper from Trove.

So where will the guests sleep you ask?

The custom bookshelves also serve as night stands.  We styled the shelves with framed geodes, petrified wood, and plants to add to the organic asthetic.
