Glamorous Dining Room

We are currently working with a client who is giving her whole house a makeover. The scheme that we have come up with is very glamorous, chic and elegant – just like our lovely client.  I thought that I would share some of the elements that we are putting together to create this glamorous dining room.

The client has an existing dining set from Ethan Allen that we will be reusing. I love the sleek lines of this table and graceful curving legs. How wonderful to be working with such a great piece of furniture!

We have two options selected for the new chandelier. The Fine Arts Lamps pendant has a art deco feel and casts the softest, most flattering light.  The Circa Lighting chandelier has lyrical curves and beautiful movement. Both of these light fixtures would be stunning in this dining room.

We are also going to be using an amazing wallpaper from Nina Campbell called Stadivari in the black and gold finish.  This one element really sets the tone for this dining room. I am so excited about seeing this wallpaper up.  It will be such a transformation and a real conversation piece.

This gorgeous bench from Hickory Chair will be covered with this Lee Jofa cut velvet and placed in front of a massive framed mirror.  I like the idea of the bench in this room as it can be used for extra seating and pulled up to the dining table.  It is more interesting then placing extra dining chairs on either side of the credenza.

Finally, the drapes will be made of a beautiful dupioni silk in midnight black and trimmed with a gold silk border.  To top them off, the seam between the black and gold will be trimmed with this incredible undulating border tape.  All these elements are from Kravet.

A project like this one really thrills me.  The client has been very open-minded about the suggestions we have made and the end result will be nothing less then spectacular. This may possibly be the most sensational dining room we have done in a while.  Stay tuned for some pictures of the finished product!

Love the drum shaped pendant, especially over the solid form of the dining table. What a dramatic room it will be when finished! All that black and gold! Glamour in its essence! Waiting for pictures when all done!

I love the drum shade too. In fact, I have the same one in my own dining room!
