It’s been a while since we featured a kitchen project on the blog. This beauty which we designed for a lovely young family has been well worth the wait.. bright and classic design, with all the bells and whistles, and it has a butler’s pantry!
There is something that just feels right about a bright, white kitchen. We combined white lacquered millwork with a stained walnut island and white oak floors to add warmth. Stunning architectural detail and punches of colour create an elegant, welcoming, and comfortable vibe.
These clients and are not afraid to make bold choices with colour and details. (You’ll see much more colour when we reveal the rest of this project!) Lots of thought went into avoiding a “cookie cutter” look, with stunning results.
The backsplash was tiled in an extraordinary Ann Sacks Swiss Cross tile. The all-white accessories on the open shelving boast cool texture for added visual interest. The Tom Dixon pendant lights add drama while the luxe fabric of the studio shades lend a burst of colour.
Another signature In House Design detail is highlighted in the careful combination of mixed metals throughout – a combination of matte black, brass, nickel and chrome finishes create an eclectic look that will age gracefully.
And of course, the details are striking! Bronze tiled backsplash was installed up to the underside of the wine rack, then boldly patterned wallpaper continues to the ceiling. Smoked glass pulls on the cabinetry follow the mixed hardware theme of the kitchen. And check out this sink…jaw-dropping!
