Some people love to entertain, and others find it to be one of the most stressful things on earth! Today, we have some quick tips to make dressing your dining table an easier task and hopefully taking some of the fear out of formal entertaining.

Tip #1 – Use your best china, crystal and silver wear. Guests feel more special when you pull out all the stops and treat them to your finest.
Tip #2 – Try to appeal to all the senses. Taste and smell is taken care of with food, but make your table visually appealing too. Have some music to enhance the spirit of the evening playing softly in the background and think about incorporating a variety of textures in your linens and decor elements for tactile enjoyment.
Tip #3 – Candlelight and dimmer switches are your friends! Utilizing them is the easiest way to set the mood for an intimate evening.
Tip #4 – Flowers and candles are always lovely, but try adding some other details to your table scape to keep it interesting. Think of incorporating small figurines that suit your theme, place card holders and chargers under the plates for added pattern, texture and appeal.
Tip #5 – Plan ahead! Take time the day before your party to make sure the silver wear is polished and that the linens are pressed. Then you’ll have time to sip a glass of wine as you wait for your guests to arrive!
As a side note, the photo above was taken from our table “The Guilded Wild” at the Monogram Dinner X Design event in June. Western Living Magazine is kindly featuring our work in an upcoming issue. We’ll share more images after that is published, but in the meantime, we’d like to thank our extremely generous sponsors for helping us make our vision come to life. We’re tremendously grateful to each and every one of you!
