We are absolutely thrilled to announce that one of our commercial projects, The Bank and Baron P.U.B recently won an AWMAC (Architectural Woodwork Manufacturers Association of Canada) Award of Excellence! Corea Sotropa Interior Design was part of the team that converted the historic Bank of Nova Scotia building located on Stephen Avenue Mall into a traditional pub with art deco architecture. It was such an honour to work on such an important piece of Alberta history. Because the building had historical significance, we maintained many of the extraordinary original details like the ceiling, mouldings and many of the light fixtures. We added our own modern touches to compliment what was to remain and to stay true to the old bank’s pedigree. Here are some images of the completed project including the magnificent bar, the crowning jewel of this masterpiece. Our favourite place to hang out is the cozy bronze toned booths! It’s a great spot for a business luncheon, a night on the town or to watch a game!
