We’re back this week to explore the rooms of our tiny clients…the kids! We always design the children’s bedrooms with style, individuality, and functionality in mind. We’re going to revisit three of our favourite projects to check out the children’s rooms: The Modern Acreage, The Rosemont Residence and the Silverhorn Showhome!
We want to equip you with some tips and tricks that will come in handy the next time your kiddo wants a bedroom makeover![line]
BEDROOM ONE | INCORPORATING COLOUR
Identify a colour palette. Children’s rooms are open to fun and imaginative design; play around with their favourite colours!
BEDROOM TWO | TIMELESS FURNITURE
Kids tend to change their minds more than they change their clothing…invest in timeless furniture and it’ll pay you back in the long run! It’s easier to update the space by switching out the hardware on the key pieces rather than to replace the furniture altogether.
BEDROOM THREE | ACCESSORIES
It’s all about the accents! Accessories are one of the most efficient ways to add colour and personality to a room. They are also the easiest things to change out as your child grows.
BEDROOM FOUR | FEATURE WALLS
A neat way to bring your kid’s room to life is to add a feature wall similar to the wood panelled wall in this space. You can also incorporate texture and individuality to the room by covering one wall, floor to ceiling, with some wallpaper! Don’t forget about the “fifth” wall of every bedroom – the ceiling (see bedroom 2 above for a great example)!
BEDROOM FIVE | DOUBLING UP
Sometimes two IS better than one! In this case, two twin beds fit the room and opened up the space. Perfect for sleepovers!
BEDROOM SIX | KEEP IT SIMPLE
You can never go wrong with a classic theme! This outdoorsy “camping” themed room is spare and stylish with timeless pieces that can grow with your kid and accessories that can be easily swapped out as their tastes change.
